Family Connection Youth Shelter

Young people living on the streets have a significantly higher chance of becoming victims of abuse, sexual assault, and sexual exploitation than youths with access to shelter.

Family Connection’s Youth Shelters offer a safe temporary location for homeless teenagers ages 12 through 17 to shelter and receive counseling services. When someone new enters our facility, we greet them with care for their needs, including clean clothing and showers, hot meals, and emergency counseling.

As these youths learn they can trust us, we encourage them to work with us to further build on their current skills and develop new ones. This helps them build confidence and create a constructive image of what they see themselves doing in their future.

As our end goal is finding these young people stable long-term environments, our counselors provide guidance to develop self-assurance and re-establish family ties when possible. Family Connection also offers family and group counseling to assist with the reunification process. If reunification is not possible, we ensure these young people have a safe long-term alternative living arrangement provided to them.

For the safest environment, all Family Connection Staff undergo intense training and background checks before working with our youth.

We provide a wide range of services which include:

  • Short-term shelter services for youth
  • Individual, group, and family counseling
  • Case management
  • Referral services
  • Life skills
