Miley Cyrus sent a homeless man to accept her VMA Award
"Thank you all — my name is Jesse, and I am accepting this award on behalf of the 1.6 million homeless youth," he said, reading from a piece of paper as Miley sat near the stage, fighting back tears. "I've survived in shelters all over. … Though I may have been invisible to you on the streets, i have the same dreams as many of you."
Family Connection applauds Jesse's courage and efforts in raising awareness of the plight of homeless teens in our country. These teens are homeless, not hopeless. Thank you Jesse - you have brought hope to so many young people! Family Connection has provided shelter and support for runaway and homeless youth for over 38 years. Family Connection is the connection that makes a difference in the lives of children, youth and families.
