Safe Place

If you are a young person in an unsafe or dangerous situation, you can depend on any location with a Safe Place sign. Look for the big black and yellow signs, come on in, and tell us you need help. Our locations are scattered throughout Shelby and Jefferson County. You can find the closest location to you here.

TXT 4 HELP

if you are a young person under 18 and need help, text SAFE and your
current location (address/city/state) to 44357. You will receive a text back with the
address of the nearest Safe Place site and the contact number for Family Connection. You can also have an interactive texting session with a mental health specialist.

Project HOPE Day Shelter

If you are homeless between the ages of 16 and 21 in the Birmingham area, drop by our day shelter to receive a hot meal and essential toiletries, a shower, and a place to rest. This shelter operates Monday through Friday from 10 AM to 6 PM.
